We often hear that buying things could eventually lead us to resentment. Well I guess if we bought things that are really essential to us, then there’s no room for regrets. In times like this that we are forced to stay at home I’m really glad, my husband and I were able to buy these things that we now enjoy. They are not only essential but we really enjoy staying at home because we have all these.

 

Mid last year, we upgraded our internet speed and requested to remove our data cap. We used to have 15 MBPS speed with 50GB data cap. We love to watch movies and TV Series thru Netflix so we always maxed out our data cap. Hence, I would need to request for data cap booster which cost Php 99 pesos and this happens almost every month. So I decided to get the upgrade which will give us up to 10 MBPS speed without the data cap. Fair enough. because of Covid-19 Pandemic, my husband and I are both working from home now. Our little son also loves to watch cartoons online. So Internet plays a really huge part of our daily life. The price? It’s not so much, an increase of Php 200+ on the bill I think is just fine especially when this is also being used for our home office.

 

This was not actually in our plan. But when we were shopping for Christmas last year, I realized, my husband worked really hard so why not give him the desire of his heart.We also heard about that this unit is on sale but there’s only few in stock. Luckily, from a number of stores we visited, we scored to get one – the last unit from a store in Ayala The 30th! We paid this in cash so it also feels a little better that we don’t have to worry about an added payment liability.
We are now enjoying this since the lock down began. I can say that the amount we spent for this is all worth it!

 

The first Television that my husband and I purchased is a Smart TV. We bought it about 4 years before we got married. The TV stayed in my parents’ house then we only got it when we moved into our house after our wedding in 2017.

The second TV that we purchased very recently is from our married cousins who purchased a new TV. Basically, this is a used TV that they let go to save some space from their house. My husband who thinks it’s a perfect pair for his PS4 agreed to buy it. Our cousins then agreed to have this paid in installment – pay it when able! Haha! At first, I was hesitant because I really wanted to cut our expenses from purchasing things that are not so important to us. But little did I know, my husband already agreed to buy it. Well, since we’re on lock down, I can really appreciate how this second TV brings so much joy in our family. Thou it’s not a Smart TV, but the PS4 is so powerful, indeed they are really a perfect pair! I can watch Netflix, Stream on YouTube for Primo (our son) and many more!

 

Plants! There are some succulents and cactus that my Mom gave me. I transferred some of them to another pots and that gave me so much peace – having a ME time with these little plants! So I started regrowing our kitchen scraps like Kangkong, Bell Pepper, Kamote, Onions and Melon. Then I got so interested in Bonsai making. So I bought bougainvillea to start with.I also added Calamansi plant and Oregano. It’s really fun, peaceful and I get too excited to visit them everyday. I think, I just found my new hobby now that we are forced to stay at home. This is also a perfect way to shun from toxic news and feeds on social media.

Wow! I guess, this is one of my favorite purchases last year! I can’t imagine how my husband and I would be able to work from home without an AC in our room! A little increase in our Electricity bill but it didn’t hurt so much for an exchange of so much comfort for our family.
