Effective today, March 17, 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte mandated the Enhanced Community Quarantine for the whole island of Luzon for one month. Currently, the Philippines has a total of 142 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
I’ve been so restless about this pandemic disease because of course just like everyone else, I feel worried about my family. I have an old mother with asthma, a very young child and a husband who works in Metro Manila. He MIGHT end up being a carrier if this total lockdown will not be implemented. And to all other relatives I have, I sincerely feel scared about their health too.
Record shows that the survival rate is high but very contagious and I guess that’s what we are really afraid of. Nobody wants to get sick! Because we Filipinos can’t afford to get sick! With the health system we have at the moment? No, we really can’t get sick!
It’s been weeks of endless debate between political supporters of who’s good and who’s not, who’s real and who’s fake, who’s better and who’s stupid. But I’m still thankful that our Government has finally made a drastic move to protect its people. Praise to you Lord! 🙏
We still feel unsafe, worried and unsure of what this Pandemic could bring to the whole world. But at least we are now starting from somewhere.
My husband will not be working for one month or until further notice. Depends on the outcome of the quarantine. But we’re praying for the best! Again, thank you Lord for my WFH job. This lessen the anxiety in our family.
Situations like this, makes you focus on the most basic things, food, shelter, health and good relationship with your family. I guess, streets might be so quiet for the whole one month but the noise continues on Social Media. Let’s continue to protect ourselves and our loved ones. You already know the drill!
Keep praying! The Lord is faithful! May God bless us all!
